Nothing like teaching the subject of Satire by assigning Jonathon Swift's "A Modest Proposal," listed under the header of "Irony & Satire" and still the English 100 Freshman didn't grasp the concept.  If you have not read the Swift short story, it's definitely worth the read.  How a lesson on Satire becomes a funny memory.
